Starting a blog from scratch is the easy part. The difficult part is to maintain it. Today there are more than a million people actively involved in the blogosphere. Some of them are full timers who depend on blogging for their daily livelihood, some of them are part timers trying to promote their business or website and others just do it for the sake of blogging, making new friends and spreading their opinions on various issues. There are a number of free blog hosting sites, for new bloggers to start with. But few people, blog for just about for a few weeks and just give up. Now why is that.
That makes me come to the point. Blogging is stressful and time consuming. If you are not prepared to deal with stress and do not have enough time to spare, blogging isn’t for you. So if you are planning to be a blogger you need to be really dedicated. Also people always complain that they have run out of ideas to blog about. Well its true that you have to stick to a niche, but that doesn’t mean you cannot blog about your opinions and random thoughts. The truth is people love to read and talk about other people’s ideas. So posting a thought on a particular topic is really a good blogging technique.
There are certain norms to be followed, to be successful at maintaining a blog. The first and foremost among these norms are to post your original content. Create your own stuff. Don’t just go to a popular blog and copy, paste stuff to your blog. If you want to mention other people’s topic in your blog, just post a link to their article from your blog.Bloggers also need to be consistent, which explains why blogging can be stressful and time consuming. Bloggers need to post articles frequently on their blogs. The more you update your blog, the more success it brings you.
Also a good blogger promotes his blog well. It may be a good idea for begginers to go to other blogging sites and expose their blog. They can do this by writing comments and signing off it with their blog address url. It is also considered a good blogging ettiquette to respond to users who comment on the posts in your blog. This encourages him or her to comeback and visit the site again.
And my final advice to all begginers is to never give up. It may be easy to give up when your blog does not generate much traffic. But the truth is that a good blog takes a few months to be noticed. So update your blog frequently and after maybe a twenty to thirty posts you might notice a steady traffic coming to your blog.
